Citizens for Global Solutions is co-sponsoring a series of events in Washington, D.C., to commemorate the 10th anniversary of the Rwandan Genocide. Between April and July 1994, the Rwandan genocide saw the slaughter of close to one million Rwandan men, women and children and the exodus of hundreds of thousands more to neighboring countries. This series of events honors those who died and expresses the belief of the sponsoring organizations that only by understanding what happened in Rwanda in 1994 can the international community seek to prevent it happening again, in Rwanda or any other part of the world.
