Grants Coordinator


ACCOUNTING SPECIALIST

Citizens for Global Solutions is seeking an experienced individual for the position of accounting specialist. A part-time position will be considered for the right individual. The ideal candidate is well organized, dependable and able to work well with all levels of staff and outside contacts.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain accounting systems and transactions related to cash expenditures, revenue, credit cards, A/P, A/R and payroll

  • Record all financial data in a timely fashion to automated accounting systems

  • Reconcile records of numerous banking and investment accounts

  • Conduct month end closing procedures and generate financial reports as required

  • Maintain all human resource support functions (payroll, health insurance, flexible spending plans, etc.)

  • Periodic administrative / office support

Qualifications:

  • Full working knowledge of QuickBooks and Microsoft Office

  • Outstanding organizational skills

  • Commitment to advancing the goals of the organization

  • Ability to maintain a positive and supportive attitude

  • Reliability

GRANTS COORDINATOR

Citizens for Global Solutions is looking for a creative, energetic and self-motivated individual to serve as Grants Coordinator. The Grants Coordinator will serve as a member of the Development team and will be responsible for coordinating communications and relationship building with current and potential foundation funders, assisting in the creation of new grant proposals, monitoring the implementation of current grants, researching funding opportunities and reporting on awarded grants.

Responsibilities

Foundation Relationships:

  • Coordinate communications and relationship building with current and potential foundation funders

  • Arrange president’s visits and contacts with foundation staff, and prepare briefing memos and talking points for such meetings

  •  Accurately track all external communications with foundation contacts

  •  Send proposals and acknowledgement letters to foundations

Grants Management:

  •  Update and maintain foundations database using salesforce.com tool

  • Track deadlines for proposals and reporting

  • Collect products and work results for reporting

  • Prepare interim and final reports with Director of Policy and Programs and relevant staff

  • Research potential new foundation funders

Project and Proposal Development:

In collaboration with an outside grant writer, the Director of Policy and Programs, and other relevant CGS staff, the grants coordinator will:

  •  Write, edit, and submit letters of inquiry

  •  Work with grant writer (outside consultant) to develop full proposals

  • Aid in developing project ideas

  • Bring together appropriate staff to flesh out ideas

  • Tailor proposals for specific foundations

  • Develop budgets for proposals, with significant assistance from the CFO

Qualifications:

The successful candidate will have the ability to organize and manage multiple projects under deadlines, possesses excellent written and verbal communications skills and interacts well with all levels of staff both internally and externally. Proficiency in Microsoft Office required.
