HELP THE IRAQI PEOPLE

post-conflict transition in Iraq: from war to reconstruction to independence and
democracy.

that the UN has "considerable experience in assisting in the
transition of countries emerging from conflict, such as Bosnia, Kosovo, East
Timor and Namibia

the UN has a number of administrative mechanisms that might
play a role in post-war Iraq, such as the UN Trusteeship Council, which has
managed the transition to independence and democracy in several nations.
