• This resolution calls upon the parties of
the N’Djamena Ceasefire Agreement to abide by the terms and engage in
negotiations to end the conflict in Darfur.
• Calls upon the Government of Sudan to
immediately withdraw all military aircraft, end support of the Janjaweed
militias and rebels from Chad.
• Asks the African Union to work closely
with the United Nations and NATO to help end the violence until a UN
peacekeeping force is fully implemented in Darfur.
• Proposes that the president request NATO
to implement a temporary civilian protection force.
• Requests supplemental funding to support
an AMIS and NATO mission in Darfur.
