Reconstruction and Stabilization Civilian Management Act of 2006

Introduced on May 26th, 2006 into the Senate by Sen. Lugar, Richard G. [IL]
. Purpose is to carry out reconstruction and stabilization activities in
regions, which are experiencing, at risk or recovering from conflict or
civil strife
. An initial authorization of $75 million was given to establish a Conflict
Response Fund, which will allow the President to direct funds into regions
he feels necessary
. $25 million was authorized to help in the establishment, training and
operations of a civilian Response Readiness Corps for 2007, which will be
directly responsible for helping out in conflict regions in coordination
with U.S. government civilian agencies
. The force will be made up of 250 active duty members and 500 reserve
personnel
. $80 million was authorized for FY 2007 for personnel, education and
training with regards to this act
