From the environment to terrorism, there is an urgent need for solutions that transcend national borders. Making the world a safe, just and equitable place we all want to live in will require teamwork and a common set of rules we can all live by. No one country can solve global problems alone, but some governments — including our own — sometimes turn their backs on trying to find cooperative solutions to global problems.

A great nation like the United States should lead, not bully.
