From the environment to terrorism, there is an urgent need for solutions that transcend national borders. Making the world a safe, just and equitable place we all want to live in will require teamwork and a common set of rules we can all live by. No one country can solve global problems alone, but some governments – including our own – sometimes turn their backs on trying to find cooperative solutions to global problems.

A great nation like the United States should lead, not bully. Countries with our wealth and capacity should be able to prevent crises from arising instead of pre-empting them with military force. Americans support cooperative engagement in the world, and our leaders should, too.

Citizens for Global Solutions is working to create a different vision for America's foreign policy, one that makes us stronger and safer through teamwork and cooperation. Our work includes:

• Advocating a U.S. foreign policy based on prevention, not preemption, to proactively build a more peaceful and stable world;

• Tracking Congressional and Administrative support for globally-responsible policies through an annual Global Solutions Ratings Guide and other reports;

• Encouraging U.S. ratification of important multilateral treaties that strengthen human rights and improve global cooperation;

• Tracking legislation on our global issues in Congress; and

• Researching U.S. public opinion on foreign policy.
