The most fundamental way that America can show its support for the United Nations and other international institutions is to pay our part of their budgets. For years, however, the US government has been failing this simple test of partnership with the United Nations - paying our fair share and honoring the commitment we made to the UN.

Citizens for Global Solutions believes that the U.S. should pay its obligations to the UN, its agencies and other international institutions on time, in full and without conditions. We work, often in coalition with other globally-minded organizations, to:

• Ensure that the U.S. budget submitted by the President each year contains full funding for our share of the UN budget, including our peacekeeping obligations 

• Achieve full funding for the United Nations and its agencies in the final appropriations bills passed by Congress

• Encourage lawmakers not to place onerous conditions on the money we send, remove the "cap" on peacekeeping payments, and re-adjust the U.S. payments schedule so that we aren't paying the UN 9 or 10 months late.
