- United Nations Security Council misses opportunity to halt violence in Darfur. 

November 18-19 - United Nations Security Council meets in Nairobi, Kenya, to discuss the Darfur crisis.

November 15 - Citizens for Global Solutions, along with 17 other organizations, writes a letter to the United Nations Security Council requesting specific action on Darfur.

November 9 - The Sudanese Government and the SPLA agree to stop all military flights over Darfur and guarantee humanitarian access to aid camps in the region.

November 4 - Secretary-General Kofi Annan reports to the Security Council that there are “strong indications” that war crimes and crimes against humanity have occurred on a “large and systematic scale” in Darfur.
